RESEARCH

The overarching goal of the MCBONES Research Center Foundation is to see the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site developed into a local/regional paleoenvironmental research center serving as an outdoor classroom and laboratory for K‐12 students, teachers, and community volunteers.

The current goals are:

1) To excavate and study, under the guidance of regional Ice Age research specialists, the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site, as a mechanism to teach and train teachers and students in the scientific methods used by paleontologists, geologists, and paleoecologists.

2) To spark interest in scientific methods and inquiry in the general school population.
